What You Can Do To Help

Making A Difference

Madison Zuberbuehler

There's kids in this world that are like you and me, except they're battling a serious illness. Ask yourself, what you can do to help? It seems like there's no way an average student could help, but that's wrong. There's so many little things you can do for these kids.

Case High School is holding a fundraiser and that's ‘The Letters to Santa’. If you write just one letter to Santa, one dollar gets donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an organization dedicated to making kids who have cancer, wishes come true. It takes one minute to write a letter and to help a child get to do something they didn't think they'd be able to do.

Another organization that benefits kids with cancer is ‘Love Your Melon’. They sell soft knitted hats and for each one purchased they give a child with cancer, a hat. You can purchase a hat at https://www.loveyourmelon.com.

Another organization that is dedicated to helping kids with cancer is Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The founder, a child with cancer, Alexandra “Alex” Scott set up a lemonade stand to give all the money she made to her doctors to get a cure. When she passed away in 2004 at the age of eight, her parents started the foundation and it has boomed ever since. They have funded more than 650 research projects, created a travel program to help support families of children receiving treatment, and developed resources to help people everywhere affected by childhood cancer. All you have to do is go on the website; https://www.alexslemonade.org/about-alexs-lemonade-stand-foundation-childhood-cancer and donate.

There's so many more organizations and so many easy ways to help. So take a minute to write your Letter to Santa and help make a child's dream come true.
