Starting on Monday, March 20th, the girls soccer tryouts for the 2017 season started. The team lost a lot of people from the last season, due to both graduating and injury, but everyone is still hopeful with what the season will hold.
A lot of people can be seen at the tryouts, all hoping to get a spot on the team. The tryouts are a full week process, making sure the best of the best get picked for the varsity team.
To be on the team, you need a lot of skills. To start practice, the players will warm up and get straight to showcasing their skills.
However, it’s not just about skills. To be a good team, you need to be close with your teammates. Every Saturday, the girls soccer team tries to get together for team bonding activities.
The team from last year was very close with each other and they hope to be just as close this season.
Abby Jensen, a varsity player from last year says, “We saw each other every day so of course we were close, we will always be close.”
The team is very hopeful with the upcoming season, and all returning players are keeping an open mind about everything. They all hope to accomplish great things, always keeping their higher goals in mind.
