March Madness : Sweet Sixteen Predictions

The NCAA gives people a chance to pick over their brackets from the start of the Sweet Sixteen. This idea was implemented back in 2007 and has given gamblers another chance to finally show their knowledge. Here’s how I think this Sweet Sixteen bracket will go.

9. Kansas St. vs 5. Kentucky -

These two teams have had a nice run into the Sweet Sixteen, but ultimately I believe that five seeded Kentucky is on a little hotter of a roll and will beat the Wildcats to move onto the Elite Eight.

11. Loyola-Chicago vs 7. Nevada -

11 seeded Loyola has proven why the March Madness is so crazy. They have beat a 6 and a 3 seed and now have to go on and beat the 7 seeded Nevada. In the end, I believe that Loyola will move on in the tournament and go on to face Kentucky in the Elite Eight.

9. Florida St. vs 4 Gonzaga -

This game will be very close for many reasons: these two teams play the same consistent basketball, and that has put them both in a good position to make it far in the tournament. But, I think Florida St. has a better core of guys, and I think they will barely win and move onto the Elite Eight.

3. Michigan vs 7. Texas A&M -

I believe that this is the big blowout game. This will be the game where the team will win with ease and it will never be a contest. I’m taking Michigan on this one.

1.Villanova vs 5. West Virginia -

Villanova has proven to the country why they deserve to be a one seed. Now they have to take on a good West Virginia team that has fared well against every team they played in the tournament this year. In the end, I think that West Virginia will pull off this upset and show why they shouldn’t be taken lightly.

3. Texas Tech vs 2. Purdue -

Purdue has done a great job handling the athletic scorers every year, so Texas Tech will be a little bit of a test for them as they will have to go against the athletic guard - Keenan Evans. I think the injury of Isaac Haas will be too much for Purdue to overcome, and Texas Tech will pull out in the end and run to the Elite Eight.

1. Kansas vs 5. Clemson

Kansas has had one of the best programmes in college basketball history for the last 5 years and continues to make it far in the tournament. I think that Clemson is a young team that will be back in the tournament for years to come, but they will lose to Kansas.

2. Duke vs 11. Syracuse

Duke is another one of those teams that is always good and will always have a top program. Syracuse has made it far with their consistent play, but Duke will be too much for them and they’ll exit the tourney a little sooner than they would of liked.

The Sweet Sixteen has statistically the most upsets. The higher seed has a 52% chance of losing and ending their tournament run. So really it's a 50/50 chance that these teams win or lose. Best of luck to you on your remake of the bracket, and hopefully I helped in any way.
